Last updated: 2 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data Sale Catcher processes, why, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who is responsible

Star Karabil
Kurfürstenallee 29
28211 Bremen
Germany
Email: support@sale-catcher.com

2. Visiting this website

When you open sale-catcher.com, our hosting provider automatically processes technical data that your browser sends: IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser type and operating system. This is needed to deliver the page and to protect it against attacks (for example, blocking known malicious IP addresses). We do not use this data to identify you.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in a secure, working website).

This website does not use tracking, analytics or advertising cookies. Fonts are stored on our own servers, so no data is sent to font providers.

3. Your account

To use Sale Catcher, you sign in with your email address. We send you a one-time sign-in link; there is no password. After you sign in, we set one strictly necessary session cookie so you stay signed in. It contains no tracking information and expires when you sign out or after a period of inactivity.

We store:

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of our contract with you). The session cookie is used under § 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG because it is strictly necessary for the service you requested.

4. Emails we send

We send sign-in links, price-drop alerts and essential account messages (for example, about your subscription). We do not send newsletters or advertising. These emails are sent through Amazon Simple Email Service. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

If you write to us at support@sale-catcher.com, we process your message and contact details to answer you. Our mailbox is hosted by mailbox.org in Germany. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR.

5. Payments

Premium subscriptions are paid through Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Limited, 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin, Ireland). You enter your payment details directly with Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. Stripe tells us whether a payment succeeded, the subscription status, and the last four digits and type of your payment method. Stripe processes data to prevent fraud and meet its own legal obligations; see stripe.com/privacy.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract) and Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (legal obligations, for example tax and bookkeeping).

6. Service providers

We use the following processors, bound by data processing agreements under Art. 28 GDPR:

Amazon and Stripe belong to groups based in the USA, so data may be transferred to the USA. Both companies are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and the European Commission has issued an adequacy decision for certified companies (Art. 45 GDPR). In addition, standard contractual clauses apply.

7. How long we keep data

8. Your rights

You have the right to access your data (Art. 15 GDPR), to correct it (Art. 16), to have it deleted (Art. 17), to restrict processing (Art. 18), to receive it in a portable format (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on our legitimate interests (Art. 21). To use these rights, email support@sale-catcher.com.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. The authority responsible for us is: Die Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit der Freien Hansestadt Bremen, Arndtstraße 1, 27570 Bremerhaven, Germany.

9. Do you have to provide data?

You can visit this website without giving us any personal data. To use Sale Catcher, we need your email address; without it we cannot send sign-in links or alerts.

10. Changes

We update this policy when our service or the law changes. The current version is always available on this page.
